Pangu 10.0.3

With iOS 9 we didn’t see many jailbreaks until Pangu gave us PPHelper for iOS 9.2 to iOS 9.3.3. Although Apple did shut this down fairly quickly, we still hoped that Pangu would produce another one to see us through to the end of iOS 9 but we didn’t get one. iOS 10 was released in September and, following a couple of updates, is now on iOS 10.0.3 download [ext link].

Is There an iOS 10.0.3 Jailbreak ?

No, not yet. However, we do know that Pangu is busy working on something and it will be thoroughly tested on iOS 10.0.3 to see if it will be safe for us to use. Because iOS 10.0.3 is new, it is going to take a little time to do this, especially given the fact that Apple says the introduction of their new technology, Rootless, has made things much harder and jailbreaking will not be able to happen.

That didn’t really work out for them because we have already seen proof of an iOS 10 jailbreak from Luca Todesco. The Italian hacker and developer uploaded a video of an iPad jailbroken on iOS 10 and an iPhone 7 jailbroken on iOS 10.0.1, both within days of the firmware being released. If you want to take a look at those, you can see them under his Twitter handle of @qwertyoruiopz. However, as usual, Todesco will not be releasing his work publicly and that means we are still waiting on Pangu.

 iOS 10.0.3 Features :

iOS 10 is packed full of new features, all of which are ideal targets for the jailbreak tweak developers to delve into. iOS 10.0.3 is a minor update, purely to fix a number of cellular connectivity bugs in the new firmware but you can take a look at the iOS 10 features in our separate post, to give you some idea of what the developers are working with.

Any iOS device that can run iOS 10 will support the iOS 10.0.3 download and the iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak when it arrives. Each year, we lose a couple of devices from the support list, generally the oldest ones because they don’t have the hardware to cope with the latest updates. For the iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak, these are the devices that will be able to run it:

  • iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus
  • iPod Touch 6th generation
  • iPad Air, Air 2
  • iPad Mini, 2, 3
  • iPad 2, 3, 4
  • iPad Pro – both models

While we are waiting for news from Pangu on the iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak, follow us on Facebook and Subscribe to our free email newsletter; the updates will be sent to your inbox.
