Following the end of PPHelper jailbreak after iOS 9.3.4 which was released with the sole purpose of patching it off, Apple has now released a further update in the form of iOS 9.3.5 download [ext link]. This update also only contains security updates but this time for something more serious. It came to Apple’s attention that there was a piece of malicious software being installed on iPhones for the purpose of tracking and stealing data. iOS 9.3.5 contains the patches that stop this malware from doing any damage.

Should I Update to iOS 9.3.5 ?
If you didn’t update to iOS 9.3.4 and you still have PPHelper jailbreak installed on your device, then no, don’t update. If you are still on iOS 9.3.3 and haven’t installed PPHelper yet you can still go ahead jailbreak iOS 9.3.3, using our step by step tutorial. If you updated to iOS 9.3.4 you now cannot downgrade because iOS 9.3.3 is no longer being signed so, in that case, you should update to iOS 9.3.5 [ext link] to take advantage of the security fixes.
There is, of course, the issue of security at stake here. We can’t be sure how many devices have been infected with this malware and that means we don’t know how much data is at risk. If you are at all concerned that your iOS device may have been compromised by this software you should seriously consider updating to iOS 9.3.5. Remember, Apple doesn’t just release updates to bring us new features or kill off jailbreaks; they also do it to stop major security issues like this in their tracks.
iOS 9.3.5 Jailbreak Release Date :
Right now, the latest jailbreak is PPHelper for iOS 9.2 to iOS 9.3.3 and there is no indication that there will be an iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak. Of course, we have no doubt that Pangu is exploring the new firmware but it may not be with the intent to jailbreak it. They could be taking note of any exploits that are available and waiting to see if iOS 10 patches them before determining whether or not to jailbreak iOS 9.3.5. On the other hand, they may just surprise us as they did last time and release a new jailbreak before then. Either way, don’t expect it to be released immediately.
